Tim Olt
For the past four years, Tim was the Visiting Assistant Professor of Tuba and
Euphonium at Bowling Green State University. He is currently tubist with the Glass
City and Queen City Brass Quintets, principal tuba of the Lima
Symphony Orchestra, and a founding member of the professional
tuba quartet, All the King's Tubas. He holds a bachelor's degree
in music education from Wright State University, a master's degree
in tuba performance from Miami University, and has pursued doctoral
studies at Florida State University. His principal teachers include
Sam Green, Paul Ebbers, Jason Smith, Francis Laws, and Michael
Thornton. Tim has held positions as a faculty member of Blue Lake
Fine Arts Camp, assistant band director and interim choir director
at Versailles Exempted School, principal tubist with the Cincinnati
Opera Orchestra, and extra/substitute for the Cincinnati Symphony
and Pops orchestras and the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra. He
has also played with various orchestras and chamber ensembles
throughout Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky, New York, Minnesota,
Alabama, Georgia, Wisconsin, and Florida. In addition to teaching
and performing, Tim is an active arranger and composer. He has
written works for the Encore Brass Quintet, All the King's Tubas,
Miami University Brass Choir, Bowling Green State University Tuba/Euphonium
Ensemble, Florida State Tuba Ensemble, Lima Symphony Orchestra,
and many other groups. Arrangements are available through Cimarron

Press. Tim also manages and operates B&O Instrument Repair
Service and is a certified NAPBIRT repair technician.
