Biography |
|
I was born in Dayton, Ohio to Robert and Stella Olt. I spent my childhood in Kettering, Ohio attending J. M. Holt Elementary School, Southdale Elementary School, Van Buren Junior High School and Kettering Fairmont High School (actually, one year of Fairmont West before the consolidation). I spent summers visiting my mom's relatives in Cooke County, Tennessee or playing in various musical groups around the Dayton area. After graduating high school in 1985, I spent a few years in college at Wright State University and the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati working on my music degrees before deciding to go forth into the world and find my fame and fortune. I worked several jobs (ok, a lot of different jobs) and found I really missed music. So, I went back to college in 1996 at Wright State University to finish my bachelor's of music education degree. I then proceeded to head to Miami University in 2001 for my master's in tuba performance, and then to Florida State University in 2002 to pursue my doctorate in music performance. I finished one year of the doctoral classwork and was offered a teaching position at Bowling Green State University. I left BGSU in 2007 to pursue other interests. I currently teach at Miami, Northern Kentucky, Ohio Northern and Wittenberg Universities. Below are several documents that may be of interest. |
