Tim holds a bachelor's degree in music education from Wright State University, a master's degree in tuba performance from Miami University and has pursued doctoral studies at Florida State University; principal teachers include Paul Ebbers, Sam Green, Jason Smith and Michael Thornton; founded MU's annual Brass Day; former assistant band director and interim choir director at Versailles Exempted School; faculty member at the Blue Lake Fine Arts camp; currently tubist with Glass City Brass and principal tuba of the Lima Symphony Orchestra; former tuba with the Cincinnati Opera Orchestra and the professional tuba quartet, All the King's Tubas; has served as an extra/substitute for the Cincinnati Symphony and Pops orchestras and the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra, as well as orchestras throughout Ohio, Indiana, Michigan and Kentucky; member and arranger of the Encore Brass Quintet in Dayton, Ohio, for 13 years; versatile jazz performer, particularly in Dixieland; has composed and arranged works for the Encore Brass, All the King's Tubas, Miami University Brass Choir, Florida State Tuba Ensemble, Lima Symphony Orchestra and other groups; arrangements are available through Tuba-Euphonium Press; manages and operates B&O Instrument Repair Service and is a certified NAPBIRT repair technician.
