Matt Tropman, former solo euphonium with the United States Marine Band (President’s Own) in Washington, DC, now resides in Battle Creek, Michigan where he serves as general manager of the Brass Band of Battle Creek and adjunct professor in euphonium at Eastern Michigan University. With the Marine Band, Matt performed frequently at The White House, and as a soloist in the DC area and throughout the U.S.
Matt has released two solo CD's on summit records; Continuum and From the Balcony.

As a soloist, Matt has performed in engagements at Cleveland’s Severance hall, Baltimore’s Myerhoff Symphony Hall, Music Hall in Cincinnati, and others. Matt captured top prizes in a variety of competitions, including the Colonial Euphonium and Tuba Institute in 1995, as well as at the Leonard Falcone International Euphonium and Tuba Festival (1993) and the International Euphonium and Tuba Conference (1992). Recently, he was named a semifinalist in the Concert Artists Guild International Competition.

Matt is an active clinician and recitalist, having performed and taught throughout the U.S., as well as Finland, Canada, and Great Britain at such events as the International Tuba-Euphonium Conferences in 2000-2002. Matt has given masterclasses at numerous institutions and served as guest faculty at the Peabody Conservatory and Penn State University. Matt Graduated from the University of Michigan in 1995.
